Nau mai haere mai, welcome to Aroha Nui Yoga!
Aroha Nui Yoga is an holistic yoga studio offering classes and workshops, both online and in person, for over 2 decades.
Ko Linsey toku ingoa, he uri ahau no Ngati Whakaue, Ngati Rangiwewehi, Ngati Pikiao, Ngati Makino, Ngati Whatua - Te Uri o Hau, Pakeha.
My name is Linsey and I am a descendant of the Te Arawa confederation of tribes, from the Bay of Plenty, Aotearoa/ New Zealand. My ancestors are Māori and Scottish, English and Irish.
My journey with yoga began over 25 years ago through attending a pregnancy yoga class. I found yoga to be an excellent way to care for my body, and the holistic and spiritual depth of yoga resonated with my mind and wairua ( spirit )
I found that practice enabled me to let go of stress, renew my body and mind, and just be in the moment. I left classes renewed and restored and ready to face the world.
I went on to train as a yoga teacher, and open my own studio in Helensville, Auckland.
I believe yoga increases your resilience and gives you tools to manage stress, encourages wellbeing and spiritual growth, and helps us to ride the waves of life.
I am passionate about sharing this with others who are seeking greater wellbeing in their lives.
I believe in continually learning as a teacher and under go professional development on a regular basis.
While my yoga classes offer a chance to stay balanced and restored for everyday life - workshops/ wānanga and retreats go deeper, and encourage healing and promote holistic wellbeing / Hauora.
It is one of my goals to share yoga in Te Reo Māori when I can, and in 2020 I was fortunate to be able to do this with the Harakore TV crew - watch the episode here

When not busy working and being a nanny I enjoy; mahi toi/ art, being in nature, studying and travelling.
I am currently studying Toi Māori - māori and indigenous art at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, weaving, and learning Te Reo Maori.
